Start date: 30th August 2016. Plus additional dates throughout the year.
This is a six week course, which you will attend two days per week.
If you are aiming to get employment in the construction industry you MUST have a CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. Our course will teach you the health and safety regulations and safe working practices that all construction workers must know.
This is an entirely classroom-based course and is aimed at young people who want to get straight into employment. If you don’t yet feel ready for a job, we would advise completing one of our other construction course beforehand.
To get the CSCS card you will need to pass a Level 1 unit about health and safety and then sit a multiple choice test at an external centre.
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety
- Opportunity to sit the multiple choice test
Costs and Financial Support
The course is FREE to students ages 16-19. There are also NO costs for tools, materials or equipment. Students may also be eligible for a weekly bursary payment to cover travel and food expenses. As this is a full-time course, parents / carers will be eligible for child related benefits.
Applicants should have experience of construction trades and be ready for employment.
