Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying

Overview

This qualification is ideal for candidates who want to work as a Bricklayer in the construction industry.  It will help you learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in bricklaying.  The course is delivered in our large construction department where you will gain skills and knowledge to enable you to carry out block and bricklaying activities, cavity walling and setting out and building masonry structures up to damp proof course.

Details

You will be required to gain the following units:

• Principles of building construction

• Contributing to setting out and building of masonry structures up to damp proof course

• Carrying out blocklaying activities

• Carrying out bricklaying activities

• Carrying out cavity wall activities

• Health, Safety and Welfare in construction

How will it be delivered?

Unit 101 Principles of building construction and Unit 201 Health, Safety and Welfare in construction are each assessed by an online multi choice test 

The remaining units are assessed by a practical assignment to cover performance outcomes and a multi choice question paper to cover the knowledge outcomes

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements however your skills and ability will be assessed to ensure you have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully.

This qualification allows students to progress into employment, apprenticeship or into further training to gain a level 2 Bricklaying course.
